The younger Frost involved in the massive Ponzi scheme in Coweta County, Brant Frost V, has resigned from the State Committee of the Georgia Republican party according to a statement from Chairman Josh McCoon.

“Today, I have accepted the resignation of Brant Frost V from the State Committee of the Georgia Republican Party which is effective immediately,” he wrote.

“He has also informed me that he will be resigning as Chairman of the Coweta County Republican Party with an election to choose his replacement being held within the next 30 days. This will ensure the new Coweta Party Chairman has ample time to concentrate on the important PSC races this Fall.

“With these voluntary resignations, Mr. Frost can focus on his family and upcoming birth of his first child. Mr. Frost has served as Chairman of the Coweta County Party since 2013 and I appreciate him placing his family and the immediate challenges facing Georgia Republicans over other matters in this moment.

“We in no way consider his resignations as an indication of guilt in the pending legal issues of First Liberty Building and Loan. We continue to stand with those who have suffered financial losses and hope for the speedy and full return of their investments,” said McCoon.

Brant Frost V worked in the “family business” that was First Liberty Savings and Loan, where his father was the primary owner, and his sister was also employed. First Liberty collapsed on June 27, with the SEC estimating that 300 investors had lost some $140 million.

Other social media sources have indicated that First Liberty Director of Compliance Jayme Sickert is liquidating his assets with an estate sale and moving from Newnan to Duluth. Local friends and associates who know this family have suggested that much of the ill-gotten gains of the Sickert family went towards the care of their special needs adult daughter with autism.

Newnan residents who know the Frosts have brought to The Citizen’s attention that Brant Frost IV drove around Newnan in an Aston Martin and in two different colors of Range Rover—approximately $500,000 of vehicles.

Whether Brant Frost V or Jayme Sickert will be brought up on the expected fraud charges related to the $140 million dollar Ponzi scheme that collapsed their company and left investors reeling remains to be seen.

If history is any indicator: In the famous Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme more than a dozen employees were brought up on charges and either plead guilty or were convicted of related crimes at trial. It could be expected that more people than just Brant Frost IV will be brought up on charges in this case, including some of his family.
