Local engaged couple Kaile Bouapheng and her fiancé Adam Fenske are in the running to win Variety Magazine’s competition to be America’s Favorite Couple.

After making it past several voting rounds they have neared closer and closer to winning, but will require the help of the community to progress to the next level of voting. “We’re so excited to be representing our community in the America’s Favorite Couple competition,” said Kaile.

Scheduled to get married next April, Kaile graduated nursing school this last semester, and her fiancé is a union pipefitter. They are hardworking people, salt-of-the-earth—a nurse and a welder starting their lives out together. It was a relative who suggested that they enter Variety’s contest. Winners get $20,000 and their love story told in Variety. Kaile said it would help with their wedding expenses and with possibly buying a house.

“We’re hoping with the money we can kickstart our life and settle down. And we also wanted to give back, too. There’s this foundation, Nurses’ House. They take care of nurses who can’t go back to work due to illness or injury. As a new grad nurse, I know that if anything were to happen to me, it would mean the world if I could be supported by a foundation like that,” said Kaile, who grew up in Peachtree City and now lives in Fayetteville.

Kaile and Adam are both 24 years old, born six days apart. She was a 2019 graduate of McIntosh High School, and graduated from Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin with her 2 year Nursing degree. She’s hoping to join the team at a local hospital soon; she did her clinicals at Piedmont Fayette.

Kaile thinks that her story could also have deeper meaning to people who read it. “I hope that our love story can inspire other couples to become closer to God and trust in God’s plan. I feel like He definitely brought us together. We choose each other every single day. We’re both very motivated to keep each other happy, but also know it’s important to support each other.”

How did God bring them together? According to their story on their Variety entry, it was a dating app and an emergency. Kaile and Adam had met for a date a month previously, when she needed to get to a graduation and couldn’t get the zipper of her dress up. Adam rescued her. In five minutes of her driveway he fixed her problem and won her heart.

“We’ve built our relationship on hard work, love, and supporting each other’s dreams. Winning would mean the world to us — not just as a celebration of our love story, but as a reminder that everyday couples can achieve amazing things together while helping heal and build up our community. We’d love for everyone to read our story and cast their vote daily if they can. Every single vote helps us get one step closer to our future,” said Kaile.

Kaile would like to “thank everyone for considering us considering supporting just a small town student nurse and a union pipe fitter who would just have big dreams for our future and God’s plan for us. And even if we don’t win, we hope that it goes to someone who it can benefit.”

You can vote for Kaile and Adam once a day for free or with more votes by donating to charity via the page. They need to be number 1 in their round to advance this time, and as of this writing they are second.
