At their January board meeting, the Friends of the Peachtree City Library elected Carl Hoverstad as its new Board President. He succeeds Lee Eltzroth, who served as President since 2019.

“As a board member for the past year, I’m excited to continue the Friends mission of supporting the Peachtree City Library’s programs, services, and initiatives,” Hoverstad said. “Our board plans to strengthen our community partnerships and increase engagement with library supporters.

The Friends of the Peachtree City Library, founded in 1973, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the library experience for patrons of all ages. The group provides funding and volunteer assistance for key programs, including Children’s and Adult Reading Programs, writer’s workshops, the refurbishment of the Floy Farr Community Room, the library’s Art Initiative, and special activities during National Library Week and Friends of the Library Week.

“The Friends of the Library plays a critical role in expanding the library’s resources and services,” said Eltzroth. “I am confident that under Carl’s leadership, we will continue to grow and enhance our impact.”

The Friends welcome new members and contributors who share a passion for supporting the library. Additionally, they encourage the donation of photographs and documents related to Peachtree City’s development to help preserve the city’s rich history.
