David Epps appointed Marine Corps League chaplain

In its annual conference in Macon, the Georgia Department of the Marine Corps League elected Bishop David Epps, Sharpsburg, to serve a term as the chaplain for the Department of Georgia.

Epps, a Marine Corps veteran, enlisted in 1970 and served until 1973. He is a charter member of the Sgt. Clyde Thomason MOH Detachment #1325 where he has served as chaplain and as junior vice commandant. He is also a member of the Southern Crescent Pound 350 of the Military Order of the Devil Dogs where he has served as junior vice pound keeper and is currently senior vice pound keeper. He holds the degree of “Pedigreed Devil Dog.”

Epps is the founding pastor of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg, and is the bishop of the Diocese of the Mid-South, which includes Georgia and Tennessee. He is a graduate of East Tennessee State University, the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, and Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry.
