Fire safety training starts young

Twelve-year-old Sarah Sorme was one of 14 youngsters ages 8-12 to participate in the Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services Summer Camp held July 19 and sponsored by FES and the Fayette County Recreation Dept. Sarah gets help from FES supervisor Donnie Davis in extinguishing a fire that was part of the day’s activities.

Fourteen kids ages 8-12 on July 19 attended the second annual Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services Summer Camp sponsored by FES and the Fayette County Recreation Department. Campers visited FES headquarters and the 911 center and spent the remainder of the morning checking out the fire truck and participating in other activities at the Seay Road fire station.
