Both Peachtree City and Newnan are set to host popular and highly-anticipated Fourth of July celebrations this year, offering parade festivities, family-friendly activities, and fireworks. Here’s what to know:

Peachtree City

Peachtree City’s Independence Day Parade kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on July 4. The parade will begin at Village on the Green, located north of Braelinn Elementary School, and follow a 2-mile route. The parade will proceed north along Peachtree Parkway, cross Crostown Road, continue north, then turn left on McIntosh Trail, ending at the McIntosh Trail Recreational Complex.

Those wishing to participate in the parade must register by June 27. Registration is free for Peachtree City residents, businesses, civic groups, churches, and politicians currently running for local office. Registration can be completed online or in person at the Kedron Fieldhouse & Aquatic Center. For safety guidelines and full details, visit Peachtree City’s Complete Parade Registration Information and Rules page.

Fireworks will be launched over Lake Peachtree after dark, offering an exciting finale to the day’s festivities.

Newnan

Newnan’s parade also begins at 9:00 a.m., starting at Veteran’s Memorial Park and concluding at Long Place. All vehicles in the parade are required to pull a float unless given special consideration as listed on the application. The deadline to register is June 18. Walking groups are not required to register, though it is recommended so that they can receive all relevant updates and instruction. Parking will be available on downtown streets and in Newnan’s public parking lots including:

  • 13 Lagrange Street
  •  25 Lagrange Street
  • 22 Spring Street
  • 6 First Avenue
  • 50 East Broad Street
  •  65 East Broad Street
  •  22 East Broad Street
  •  41 East Washington Street.

Starting at 5:00 p.m., the Rotary Club of Newnan, in partnership with the City of Newnan, will host an evening celebration at Newnan High School. This event will include food trucks, live music, and activities for children, concluding with a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m.

Both cities offer family-friendly and exciting ways to celebrate Independence Day. Whether participating in or viewing the parade, enjoying local music and food, or watching the fireworks displays in the evening, there will be festive options in both Peachtree City and Newnan to celebrate this Fourth of July.
