Hi, I’m Joe Campbell — and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Peachtree City Council Post 3.

My wife and I moved here with our two sons nearly a decade ago, and like so many of you, we quickly fell in love with the village feel, the strong sense of community, and the people who make this city so special. Before relocating, I retired from a 28-year career with the Walt Disney Company, where serving people was always my priority. That commitment to service didn’t end with retirement.

Since moving to Peachtree City, I’ve stayed active — volunteering in our Fayette County schools, supporting the Boy Scouts through the Flint River Council, and serving on the Board of Directors for the Peachtree City Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Now, I’m stepping up to serve in a new way — as your representative on City Council.

I’m running because I care deeply about protecting, and furthering, what makes Peachtree City unique. I believe in responsible, community-first growth that reflects our values and preserves the charm many of us moved here for. Growth is inevitable, but how we manage it matters — and residents deserve a seat at that table.

I also believe in supporting local businesses, which give our villages real character and keep our local economy strong. As someone who values fiscal responsibility, I’ll fight for an open, transparent government — and work to maintain high service levels while keeping taxes and fees in check.

Public safety is a top priority for me as well, and I have deep respect for our police officers, firefighters, and first responders. Their work is the backbone of our community, and I’ll always have their back.

Peachtree City boasts an exceptional education system, with its public schools consistently ranking in the top 5% statewide. Education is the foundation of a strong, diverse, innovative, and equitable community. My oldest son just graduated from McIntosh, and my younger one is about to start at Booth. Both of my parents were teachers, so I have a deep-rooted interest in maintaining and exceeding the high standards our schools are held to.

My wife’s parents moved here shortly after we did, and now three generations of my family proudly call Peachtree City home. We are all invested in this community — and I want to do my part to help preserve what makes it so special.

I’d be honored to earn your vote — and to serve the city we all love.

Thank you,

Joe Campbell
