Homegrown Leadership Focused on Preserving the Peachtree City Dream

PEACHTREE CITY, GA (July 16, 2025) — PEACHTREE CITY, GA — Michael Polacek, a Peachtree City native, has officially entered the race for City Council Post 4. Michael and his wife Erin, a small business owner, live in Kedron village with their two young children. Michael brings a fresh, pragmatic voice to the race, emphasizing homegrown leadership and common-sense policies. His campaign will focus on fiscal responsibility, modernizing and maintaining infrastructure, and ensuring the city operates with transparency, accountability, and efficiency.

Michael’s story is deeply rooted in Peachtree City. The son of immigrants who fled communist Czechoslovakia in search of freedom, he grew up in local schools, worked his first job at Partners II Pizza, and spent his childhood enjoying the city’s parks, pools, and golf cart paths. After serving in senior roles at the state level and building a career in public policy and budgeting, Michael and Erin moved back to Peachtree City to raise their family in the community that shaped him.

“This city means the world to me and my family. I’m running to protect the small-town values that make Peachtree City one of the best places to live,” said Michael. “Our city council needs homegrown leadership that not only understands the rising cost of raising a family and owning a home, but who is also a product of this community. I am committed to preserving the principles that my hometown was founded on, while also ensuring it remains safe, financially sound, and attractive for the next generation of families.”

Michael has spent his career in public service and was recently named to Kennesaw State University’s inaugural 40 Owls Under 40 Class. He held senior leadership positions at the state level and served as a budget writer for the Georgia House of Representatives, where he closely collaborated with legislators to draft spending plans and study the effectiveness of government programs. He currently leads health policy efforts at Piedmont Healthcare. Locally, he serves on the Peachtree City Recreation Advisory Board, helping enhance the parks, amenities, and services that families and seniors rely on every day.

The general election will be held on November 4, 2025. For more information or to get involved, visit www.michael4ptc.com.
