May is like the girl who is always the bridesmaid, but never the bride. She’s watched so many of her shelter friends get adopted, even seems like a good luck charm for her roommates, and yet, despite her amazing personality, she’s left waiting for a family of her own.
At just 8 months old, this petite-medium pup is a bundle of charm. Friendly, curious, and sweet, she’s the kind of dog who will greet each day—and her people—with genuine enthusiasm.
She’s spent most of her young life in the shelter, so she still needs to learn what it’s like to be part of a family. Fortunately, May is cheerful, food-motivated, and eager to please, which makes training fun and rewarding. She’ll thrive with a patient, loving adopter who can be her guide, teach her the basics of being a family pet, and help her leave behind the stress of growing up in the shelter.
May’s hope has never wavered, and the “kennel life” hasn’t yet dimmed her affectionate nature or her curiosity about the world. Understandably, she bursts with excitement and energy when she finally gets the chance to go outside and meet people—which can sometimes make her seem like “too much” to potential adopters. The truth is, she’s simply eager for the life she’s been missing. May can’t wait to trade concrete floors and kennel walls for a place to call her own. Surely there’s someone who will understand her predicament, recognize her potential, and appreciate the love she has to give.
May is available for adoption at Fayette County Animal Shelter, located at 1131 Highway 74 South in Peachtree City. The shelter is open seven days a week—Monday through Friday from 11–5, and weekends from 12–5. Come meet May, she’s waiting for you!
