Fayette County, GA – After a record-breaking summer with thousands of book and material checkouts and dozens of packed community events, the Fayette County Public Library is inviting everyone to keep the momentum going this Fall.

From September 1–30, the library is hosting Amnesty Month, giving patrons a fresh start. Overdue late fees of up to $10 per account will be forgiven, no questions asked. Lost or damaged items are not included. This is the perfect chance to return overdue books, clear your account, and get back to exploring the library’s shelves.

“Wiping out library fines is like hitting the reset button for readers: everyone gets a fresh start to check out books and dive back into stories. It turns a simple visit into a feel-good moment where the whole community wins,” said Library Director Michelle Bennett-Copeland.

With a wide selection of books, movies, and learning resources and programs for all ages, the Fayette County Public Library remains a hub for reading, creativity, and connection. Stop by this September to take part in the excitement and see why more people than ever are discovering all the library has to offer. For more information, please visit fayettecountyga.gov
