It will be a Fayette-themed doubleheader Friday night at Kennesaw State University, with three local teams participating in the AAAAA state soccer championships.

Starr’s Mill and McIntosh will square off at 5 p.m. for the girls’ title. The Lady Panthers downed Pope 3-0 Wednesday to improve to 19-3 on the season. The Lady Chiefs are 18-2 after Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Northgate, with one of those losses coming at Starr’s Mill in the regular-season finale.

McIntosh plays Houston County in the boys’ final at 7:30 p.m. The Chiefs defeated Greenbrier 3-0 in Tuesday’s semifinal and have outscored their four state tournament opponents 20-1. They have won 44 straight games and will be looking to take home their second straight state title.
