The Fayette County Board of Commissioners will consider spending $257,000 for lighting on two of McCurry Park’s athletic fields at Thursday night’s regular public meeting.

County staff has recommended awarded the bid to Donald Camp, Inc., for lights on Soccer Field #4 and Softball Field #6 at the complex. The board will also decide whether to use $132,000 from the McCurry Park contingency fund for this purpose.

In other business, the board will consider a recommendation to reappoint Irene Cheyne to the Region Six Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases Regional Planning Board. She would serve a new three-year term beginning Oct. 1.

The consent agenda includes approval of a final supplemental budget adjustment for the fiscal year that ended June 30 and approval to close completed projects within the capital improvement projects program and move those funds to contingency.

Also under consideration is approval of a staff recommendation to adopt the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Non-Discrimination Agreement and Title VI Assurance documents that are required for Fayette County’s Public Works Title VI program.

The board will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the county’s administrative complex, 140 Stonewall Avenue in Fayetteville.
