Fayette County Sheriff’s investigators are attempting to determine the circumstances surrounding a BMW found engulfed in flames along Padgett Road on Dec. 29. No one was at the scene when deputies arrived.

Sheriff Barry Babb said a report came in on Dec. 29 at approximately 10:50 p.m. of a car burning in the 500 block of Padgett Road in southwest Fayette County.

Babb said deputies found a white 2013 BMW fully engulfed in flames and unoccupied. There was also no one at the scene on the incident, Babb added.

The owner of the vehicle is a Hampton woman who said she loaned the car to a cousin, said Babb.

Though no crime appears to have been committed, Babb asked that anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Det. Gunter at 770-716-4814.
