Richard Eugene Mathis, Sr., 75, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away February 25, 2015.  

Mr. Mathis is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Alden Mathis and four brothers.  

He is survived by his wife, Janice Mathis;  daughter, Kim Denise Mincey; son, Richard “Rick” E. Mathis, Jr.; nephew and niece (whom he loved like children) Mark (Darlene) Cole and Donna (Roger) Culberson; grandchildren, Jacob Mangum, Lacey Lawrence, Maggie Mincey, Richard Eugene (Tripp) Mathis, III, Mackenzie Mincey and William Mathis; sister Lattie Holt; and niece, Phyllis Cole.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel.  The visitation will be held immediately prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
