Nearly 100 people attended the Atlanta Southern Crescent Alumnae Panhellenic Association (ASCAPA) annual sorority information recently at St. Paul Lutheran School and Church in Peachtree City.

According to a spokesperson, the young women heard about the benefits of sorority membership and other things. Most of them have just graduated from schools across Fayette and Coweta counties and are getting ready for college in the fall, which for many of them also means preparing to go through sorority recruitment. One of their most important pre-recruitment tasks is securing recommendations, or recs for short, from sorority alumnae.

The ASCAPA has helped hundreds of local young women get recs since 2001 and they stand ready to help again this summer. Details can be found by going to www.ascapa.org and clicking on Recruitment. The deadline to submit requests is June 15.
