Organizers of Tyrone’s community garden, Tyrone Garden 30290, are inviting the community to support its first official fundraiser for much-needed supplies.

Come to Partners II Pizza Tuesday, Aug. 4, 5-9 p.m. in the Publix shopping center in Tyrone at 1496 Hwy 74 North.

The garden is located at the lower playground area of the former Tyrone Elementary School.

“We will continue to honor the Tornado history by allocating a portion of the garden to the memory of Mrs. Alice Houston,” according to a statement.

“Our mission is to develop and maintain a productive and organic raised bed garden to encourage community engagement, education and recreation to help mold a healthy community lifestyle.”

Partners II Pizza will donate 15 percent of the profits from the Aug. 4 fundraiser to Tyrone Garden 30290.
