Four local teams took the field Friday night in the second round of the GHSA state football playoffs, and one was left standing.

Northgate downed Lanier 41-21 to earn a quarterfinal matchup at home against Kell. It is the first quarterfinal appearance in 15 years for the Vikings.

Starr’s Mill fell 30-14 at Allatoona in its second-round game to finish the season 10-2.

Sandy Creek lost 14-7 to unbeaten Bainbridge on the road to finish with a 9-3 record.

Landmark’s 2015 season came to an end with a 24-14 loss to Savannah Christian and a final record of 7-4.
