Congregation Bnai Israel has planned an interfaith community service for Friday night, Jan. 15, to celebrate Martin Luther King Day.

Mayor-elect Edward Johnson, the first elected black mayor of Fayetteville and also a pastor at a local church, will participate with his church in the service.

Local gospel groups will perform. The service begins at 7:30. All are welcome to join.

The synagogue is at 1633 Hwy. 54 in Fayetteville.
