James Michael “Mike” Moody, age 64, of Newnan, Ga., born July 15, 1951, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mike was a gentle soul loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He never hesitated to help others at any time. Mike most loved his work and spending time with his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Debbie Moody; two children Brandon (Kristi) Moody and Eric (Kelly) Moody; granddaughter Kelsi Durrough; mother Willa Dean Frazier; sister Tonya (Brent) Johnson; preceded in death by father James Riley Moody.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home in Newnan, Ga. The family will receive friends Saturday 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Christian Church, 1717 GA-154, Sharpsburg, Ga. 30277, in memory of Mike Moody.
