Living Proof Church in Tyrone will host a free emergency training class on “Keeping Your Family Safe,” Sunday, Jan. 31, at 5 p.m.

Speakers and topics will include:

• Wendi Newton on Active Shooter and Terrorism;

• Chief Brandon Perkins on How to Keep Your Home Safe;

• Capt. James Fleming on Fire and Trauma; and

• Scott Hanson on Animal Care.

Pastor Scott Smith of Living Proof Church has been a state certified police officer for 28 years.

He served the Fayette community as a SWAT commander, lead investigator, deputy sheriff, drug task force commander for five counties, and D.U.I. task force commander.

Although the event is free, donations will be accepted to assist the Tyrone Police Department in purchasing a K9 unit to provide additional protection for the citizens of the town.

The church is at 414 Jenkins Road in Tyrone.
