Local team shines in pickleball tournament

The Peachtree City Pickleball Club returned from its first-ever regional tournament with an impressive list of medals. 

At the Atlantic South Regional Tournament in Mobile, Ala., the team was represented by Sharon Conrad, Greg Conrad, Chris Conrad, Carol Braun, Carolyn Hofer and Al Schriber as well as “superfan” Margaret Schriber. 

Chris Conrad earned a gold medal in men’s singles, gold medal in men’s doubles and bronze medal in mixed doubles. 

Greg Conrad earned a gold medal in men’s doubles and a gold medal in mixed doubles. 

Sharon Conrad earned a gold medal in women’s singles, gold medal in mixed doubles and silver medal in women’s doubles. 

Al Schriber earned a bronze medal in men’s singles. 

Carol Braun and Carolyn Hofer each won new, prototype USAPA-approved paddles. 

“With the tremendous showing in this event, the club has become a team to watch out for and a contender in every event entered,” according to a spokesperson.
