The Flat Creek Niners hosted 55 golfers for their recent tournament and raised $11,279.29 for the Ferst Foundation, an increase of $3,000 over last year.

The foundation works to put books in the hands of children.

At a cost of $36 per year per child for one book a month, the money from the tournament “will go a long way for Fayette County,” according to one of the tournament organizers.

The group also gave special thanks to their corporate sponsors and 23 hole sponsors.
