Gardner Denver closing and taxes

I heard recently that Gardner Denver is closing the facility on Gardner Park and that 30 or so highly paid engineers and or project managers will be let go. Is this true?

They closed the manufacturing plant in 2012/2013 and released over 100 Georgia employees at this time. This is just a piling on at this stage.

Didn’t Peachtree City and the state of Georgia give them significant tax benefits to move here and then to expand here in 2006?

Isn’t Fayette County or the state of Georgia holding them accountable and recouping the additional tax benefits we gave to this Quincy, Ill.-based company?

[Editor’s note: There are no reports of any city or county tax breaks granted to the company when it arrived. Company officials are not returning calls. The Fayette County Development Authority had no official comment.]
