Board members of the Heritage Community Foundation met Oct. 6 with Shining Light Ministries executive director Teresa Bestwick and C&C Fence Company owner Linda Clark to commemorate the installation of a new privacy fence on the SLM property.

C&C Fence Company, a Heritage Community Foundation Partner, agreed to provide and install the fence in a generous show of support to both the Heritage Community Foundation and SLM.

According to SLM board member Vanessa Jackson, the fence is already providing much-needed privacy and protection for the residents of SLM.

SLM, established in 2007, is a nonprofit faith-based recovery home that works to help women accomplish change in their lives by providing a long-term residential recovery program for those suffering from drug and alcohol addictions. The comprehensive rehab program uses moral recognition therapy, behavior modification, AA/NA, and life skills training to help women break free of the grip of addiction. The program follows the guidelines of the 12-step program designed by AA/NA and is designed to range from 6 to 12 months or more, according to the individual progress that each resident makes through each step.
