Mr. James J. “Jim” McGowan, 75, of Peachtree City, passed away December 22, 2017 after declining health.

He was born on September 27, 1942 in Clifton Heights, Pa. to the late James and Margaret McGowan, II.  He enjoyed coaching baseball and basketball in Peachtree City and Fayette County Recreation Departments. He worked for over 15 years at Braelin Golf Course in turf care and he especially enjoyed giving treats to the dogs around the golf course.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Terri Hoover McGowan; sons, Patrick (Carrie) McGowan, Sharpsburg; Corey McGowan, Smyrna; 2 grandchildren, Dalton and Madison McGowan;  sister, Mary Lou (Bob) Weidel, New Jersey; brothers,  Tom McGowan, Long Beach Island, N.J.; Michael (Susan) McGowan, Westchester, Pa.; Daniel (Gail) McGowan, Clifton Heights, Pa.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at a later date.
