Several public safety staff and commissioners got a look at the newest edition to the Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services fleet on June 14 prior to the commission meeting. The new engine, a 1,000-gallon pumper, comes with a 20-year life and a cost of $436,000, paid by 2017 SPLOST (special purpose local option sales tax) revenues. Deputy Chief Tom Bartlett said, “This engine will serve the citizens for a long time.” Photo/Fayette County.
