A procession to bring home a Griffin soldier who died in Afghanistan March 29 will take place tomorrow (Wednesday, April 6) starting at Falcon Field in Peachtree City.

Pvt. Jeremy P. Faulkner, 23, was killed after enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in the Konar province of Afghanistan. Faulkner was assigned to the 2nd Battalion,

327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

Faulkner’s plane is scheduled to land at Falcon Field shortly after 11 a.m. The procession is expected to begin about half an hour later, though it could take a little bit longer, officials have said.

Faulkner will be escorted from Falcon Field by the Patriot Guard Riders as well as law enforcement officials.

The procession will leave Falcon Field going south on Dividend Drive, south on Ga. Highway 74 and then north up Ga. Highway 85 into Fayetteville. From there, the procession will go east on Ga. Highway 54 to McDonough Road into Clayton County.

Citizens are encouraged to line the procession route and wave flags to pay respect to Pvt. Faulkner, who graduated from Griffin High School.

Faulkner was serving as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Faulkner is survived by his mother and step-father, Judy and Tony Berry; father, Joel Faulkner; siblings, Kimberly Faulkner, Rheena Zuchowski, Joe Berry, Eric Berry, Lindsey Payton; grandparents, Nadine Faulkner, Martha and Billy Berry.
