Lou Meadows Gilmer Hale, 84, of Fayetteville, GA passed away August 1, 2011.

She was born in Eatonton, GA to the late Archie Albert Meadows and Pearl Lee Waltz Meadows. She attended Eatonton High School & Eatonton Business School in Eatonton, GA. Lou was retired from Constangy, Brooks & Smith Law Firm in Atlanta, GA and a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA and a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband Ray Hale; sons David Gilmer & wife Kim, Mike Gilmer; three grandchildren April Gilmer Baum & husband Matt, Nicholas Gilmer & Alison Gilmer Gantt; three great-grandchildren Ethan Baum, Summer Grace Baum & Everest Gantt; step-children Gary Hale & wife Lee Anne, Cheryl Castings & husband Bill; step-grandchildren Adam Castings, Matthew Castings; sisters Julia Meadows Kern & husband Dick, Jane Meadows Carson & husband Ralph and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Carl J. Mowell & Son Chapel, Peachtree City with Dr. Jerry Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jerry Hyatt officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM & Friday from 12 noon until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Gideons International, 2900 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN 37214.
