Coweta Public Safety Day features low-cost rabies shots

Low cost rabies shots and micro-chipping of cats and dogs will be offered by Coweta County Animal Control at the Public Safety Day event on Saturday, May 7. Public Safety Day will be at the Coweta County Fairgrounds at 275 Pine Road in Newnan. 

The event will also feature animals available for adoption. The rabies clinic will be from 10 a.m. until noon while the micro-chipping and adoptions will be available from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. 

Coweta County Animal Control only accepts cash and prices are as follows:

-Rabies shot: $9

-Micro-chipping: $25

-Feline adoption: $70

-Canine adoption: $120

Public Safety Appreciation Day is presented by the Blue Knights Georgia Chapter XVII. Activities include demonstrations, food, door prizes, raffle, live auction, motorcycle and car show and vendors of all kinds. 

The day also features an 11 a.m. motorcycle ride to benefit the Public Safety Benevolent Fund. It is $20 per bike, $5 for a passenger and riders get lunch included.
