A north Fayette County woman was robbed at gunpoint in Jan. 31 incident at her home. The woman was not injured in the armed robbery.

Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies at 10:38 p.m. responded to a report of a robbery at a residence on West Lane in Kenwood Landing Mobile Home Park.

Babb said a 40-year-old park resident told deputies she had parked her car on West Lane and was exiting her vehicle when a black male approximately 5 feet in height and approximately 20 years of age came up behind her and put a gun in her face and demanded she give him her purse and cellphone.

The suspect then fled the area on foot, Babb said, adding that the suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and black pants and had a thin build.

An on-duty Peachtree City Police K-9 unit responded to the location in an attempt to track the suspect. The victim was not injured during the incident, Babb said.

The sheriff’s office is asking if anyone has any information to call the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 770-716-4715.
