The Fayette County High School girls track team placed second in the Region 5-AAAA track meet last month in Carrollton. 

Sophomore Nailah Moore won the long jump with a jump of 18 feet 4 inches, the triple jump with a jump of 39 feet 2 inches and the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.40. 

Junior Sylvia Freeman won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.8, while senior Jessica Watkins won the 100- meter hurdles with a time of 14.64 and the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.6.
The 4×100-meter relay team of Moore, Watkins, junior Lauren Oglesby and freshman Sidney Sims took first place at 47.79. 

Also crossing the finish line first was the 4×400-meter relay team of Freeman, Watkins, sophomore Kyra Bryant and sophomore Amaya Anderson. 

The boys track team finished fifth. 

Sophomore Seth Holloway won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.85 and junior Caelan Filmore won the long jump at 21 feet, 5 inches.
