The South Metro Rose Society will be holding its 38th Annual Rose Show on May 17th and 18th at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church gymnasium at 175 Lanier Ave, East in Fayetteville. Local rose growers are invited to enter their roses into competition. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded. Members of the society will advise newcomers on entering their roses by calling the number below. Entries must be made at the show site by 9:30 a.m. on May 17th for judging. After judging, the show is free to the public from 1-4 p.m. on both days to view, smell, and photograph hundreds of exhibited roses and rose arrangements. Rose bouquets will be sold and there will be an Information Table where questions will be answered by ARS Consulting Rosarians. Items to be raffled include restaurant gift certificates, rose bushes, custom-blended fertilizers, art work, gardening books, and more.

South Metro Rose Society (SMRS) is affiliated with the American Rose Society located in Shreveport, LA. SMRS and meets on the 4th Monday of Jan-Apr, and Aug-Oct at the Fayetteville Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 870 Redwine Rd. All rose enthusiasts, especially novices, are invited to visit the meetings at no charge. For more information call 770-631-3885.
