Fayette County, Georgia – May 14, 2025.Beginning Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the portion of Redwine Road between Robinson Road and Foreston Place will be closed to all traffic.  The closure is necessary for the installation of a pedestrian/golf cart tunnel that will connect paths on either side of Redwine Road.  The closure should last approximately four weeks.   

Detour signs will be posted to direct drivers around the closed segment.  The posted detour is approximately 2.25 miles and follows Robinson Road, Holly Grove Road, and SR 74.  Please see the attached Detour Map.  Access will be maintained to all properties.   

Once complete, the tunnel and new paths will improve safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and golf carts.  During construction, the detour will be impactful to drivers and neighboring communities.  Please allow extra time when driving through the area and use caution to help protect the workers, yourself, and other road users.  Fayette County is working closely with the contractor to provide current and accurate information to the public and will issue updates as appropriate.  For questions, please contact Public Works at 770-320-6010 or [email protected].
