PEACHTREE CITY, GA. (July 16, 2025) – Five vintage aircraft from Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Georgia are flying cross-country to the annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Fly-In and Convention in Oshkosh, Wis., July 21-27, 2025. The Airbase fleet includes four aircraft that will be offering rides to the public at Fond du Lac County Airport, near the EAA Airventure site.
Airbase Georgia, based in Peachtree City, Ga., and one of the largest units of the CAF, will be flying in with its popular P-51 Mustang, “Red Nose”, its venerable Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless dive bomber; an LT-6 Mosquito, and a T-34 Mentor. Rides on these four aircraft will be available at Fond du Lac County airport. A rare FG-1D Corsair fighter maintained and operated by the Airbase also will fly in for exhibition and demonstrations at EAA AirVenture.
“EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Airbase Leader Joel Perkins. “We join with thousands of aviation enthusiasts to celebrate our restored warbirds and offer rides that give people an experience of a lifetime.”
