Both AAAAA state semifinals matches in the GHSA girls soccer playoffs will be in Fayette County this week.
Three of the four teams still alive and competing for the title are local, which means at least one Fayette team is guaranteed a spot in the championship match.
Starr’s Mill defeated Chamblee and Whitewater downed Decatur in the quarterfinal round, so Starr’s Mill will host Whitewater May 8.
McIntosh, which beat Carrollton in the quarterfinals, will host Flowery Branch in the other semifinal at the same time.
The championship match will be May 11 or 12 at either McIntosh or Flowery Branch.
